EQUITABLE FEE SCALE

I value economic justice and adopted an equitable fee scale. This as considered a part of my larger mission to strive for racial, gender, sexual, and disability justice. Discounted fees are reserved for people who are financially unable to afford my full fee.

I encourage the people I work with to develop practices of observing yourself in many intersecting contexts. Finding yourself on this equitable scale is one piece of that process. It may challenge you to take note of the classist society we live in. Practicing integrity and honesty regarding your financial situation offers us an opportunity to engage in economic justice on a local/personal level. I will not ask for income verification. I trust you to assess your economic reality. I trust you to determine the frequency of our sessions and will work with you to navigate the rhythm of our meetings.

Engaging with an equitable fee scale asks that you respect the energy and investments of practitioners, like myself, to support families, cover expenses, attend trainings, and invest more time and resources towards free and lower cost offerings. If you request a fee at the lower end of the scale when you can actually afford a higher fee, you're limiting access to those who truly need the gift of financial flexibility. We're all connected. Gently and curiously take these factors into consideration, and take note of what emerges as you do.

There’s a nuance around service and access which recognizes some may have financial means to access services, while acknowledging that paying for this service might be a challenge for others, and gives space for those who are dealing with financial hardship.

  • Full Fee

This is the actual service cost. All fees below this tier are discounted. If you’re able to meet your basic needs and enjoy wants as well, have savings, investments, property, inherited money, retirement accounts, travel for fun, work part time (or don’t work) by choice, have regular access to health care, have potential earning power even if it’s not immediately apparent because you are able bodied, have a college degree, have generational wealth, or because of your gender, race, etc then you have economic privilege and power in our community. This price is for you.

    $225 | 45-minutes
    $450 | 90-minutes

  • Discounted Fee

This is for people who have a steady income, do not spend most days worried about meeting basic needs (such as health care, housing, food, child care, transportation), and have financial space to enjoy some wants. They vacation annually or every few years without financial burden, thou they may be struggling to conquer debt, build savings, or move away from paycheck to paycheck living. If paying for this service may necessitate that you scale back on luxury spending in your life (such as eating out) but it would not create significant hardship, you belong here.

    $187.50 | 45-minutes
    $375 | 90-minutes

  • Hardship Fee

If you struggle to maintain access to basic needs such as health care, housing, food, child care, transportation, are living paycheck to paycheck, in significant debt, have no/very limited expendable income, have no access to savings, cannot afford a vacation or have the financial ability to take time off, are eligible for public assistance, have immigration-related expenses, and/or if you are descended from enslaved people or Indigenous Americans then you are probably dealing with hardship and belong here.

    $150 | 45-minutes
    $300 | 90-minutes

*Fees are based on the amount of time we spend together — and — this equitable sliding scale. Individual sessions are 45-minutes and are typically held weekly, some people prefer every-other week, and some occasionally seek a second appointment in the same week when needed. Relationship/couple therapy sessions are 90-minutes and are typically held every-other-week to support your integration of relational healing and skill work between sessions.

Let me know if you are in need of a sacrifice/hardship spot. If space is not available I will provide you with referrals to free and low-cost counseling services. If you are a current client, I am willing to work with you if your financial circumstances have changed.

This Equitable Fee Scale is not available for 20-hour intensives.

**As of April 2024 — Hardship Fee slots are full.**
